Help & frequently asked questions
Footprint Finder uses server-side email metadata extraction to find the services tied to your inbox. We read sender, subject and date only. We never read, store or index the body content of your emails, and we never sell your data.
Frequently asked questions
What does Footprint Finder actually read from my inbox?
Sender, subject line and date — the message headers. Never the body. That metadata is enough to identify which companies have emailed you, which is what reveals where you hold accounts.
Do I have to connect my email?
No. You can run a free breach and data-broker check with just an email address. Connecting an inbox is what unlocks account discovery, and it uses read-only OAuth you can revoke from your Google or Microsoft account settings at any time.
Which plan includes data-broker removal?
Complete, at $129/yr. The free and Pro tiers cover inbox account discovery and breach monitoring but do not include broker scanning.
Can I do this myself instead of paying?
Yes, and we publish the instructions. Every data-broker opt-out is free by law; expect around ten minutes per site and a repeat pass every few months as brokers re-list you. Paying a service buys the repetition, not access.
