How to Delete Your Instagram Account

Instagram deletes your account 30 days after the request. Photos, comments and likes are removed and cannot be restored.

Steps to delete your Instagram account

  1. Request your data. Settings → Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Download your information.
  2. Open the delete page. Visit instagram.com/accounts/remove/request/permanent/ while logged in.
  3. Pick a reason and confirm. Enter your password and tap Delete.

Gotchas to watch for

  • You cannot sign up again with the same username afterward.
